My name is Pavel Jarcevsky and I play the guitar in a group called „Jen tak tak“. I ordered a guitar from Hynek four years ago. Before I placed the order, I discussed all the necessary details with Hynek – for example what I require from such an instrument, which playing technique I‘m using, what are my technical skills, what for will be the guitar used, how much I wish to spend for it and many others.

The instrument was crafted in time, exactly according to our agreement. Nowadays, I can tell you that I could hardly find any instrument that could fulfill my requirements in such a good way. It is true, that I’m taking care of it with immoderate carefulness, but the care is returning to me in the form of concrete and balanced sound, that is still improving. I’ve used this guitar on my last three recordings and also in the recording studio and there weren’t any problems with it.

Yes, it isn’t a guitar, that you can take with you to campfire, but I performed all my concerts on it without any problems apart from using it on my courses, that I’m carrying on (I’m giving lessons to cca 60 students). This year, I took the guitar to Mexico, where I played on it during my 3000 kilometers long tour throughout the desert leading to U.S. territory. I also shouldn’t omit the fact, that the servicing care is perfect and easy accessible.

At the end, I have to say, that this complimentary appreciation is fully spontaneous from me and I don’t have any contribution to it. I’m really fully satisfied with the guitar from Hynek Pavlu.

The first guitar that I picked was Wabi’s hard rosewood Gibson guitar, on which my brother tortured my young, twelve years old fingers when playing barré chords. I was working hard for my first cheap plywood guitar. Then I changed many and many guitars – classical one’s, gibsons, jumbos and dreadnoughts. I have forgotten some of them but on the other hand there were some other that I will not forget for ever. I guess that there were cca twenty guitars that I have changed during the years.

I’ve been followed with the idea of joining the best attributes from all antecedent guitars for a long time. For example - shape of the neck and arched fingerboard from the first guitar; body proportions from the second and tuning keys or sound from the third guitar. Once, I spoke about all this with Pavel Zajic, who has just bought new custom guitar from Hynek. He said a good word for Hynek – „This is the man, you’re looking for“!.

I traveled to Hynek with really long list of requirements and with a little fear from being facetious with such a long list of requirements. We’ve discussed the requirements more than two hours and I was really pleased that Hynek did his best to show me that my requirements aren’t silly and infantile and that they can be realized.

And it really worked! I played tens of concerts, sessions or studio recordings with the guitar from Hynek. It isn’t only me who is enthusiastic from the guitar, it also gratifies the listeners, sound engineers and this makes me happy. I simply love this guitar, because when I pick her, I feel like I was playing all her „older sisters“

When I bought my first twelve stringer guitar at the age of fifteen, I didn’t know how many will come after. In the past, it was very difficult to obtain a good instrument. The only chance was to buy it in one of the western countries, which was almost impossible for a common man.

After the fall of the „iron curtain“, some traders started importing better instruments from foreign countries, but there were (rarely) also instruments from few home-made luthiers that achieved great quality. After such experience, I got a guitar with brand „Pavlů“. I’ve become really interested in the luthier, because the instruments were greatly crafted. When I became acquainted with the luthiers, I was wondering if he is capable to build such a good instrument despite his youth and he really did! You identify with a good guitar at the moment you take it to your hands and you’re enjoying it from the very beginning. And I’m really enjoying it!

If you look inside the violin or contrabass you will probably see a little „pillaret“ connecting the front and back plate of the instrument = the soundpost (in Czech it is the same word for a soul). In the guitar, you can’t see anything like this, although I can tell you, that despite of it isn’t visible, there is a „soul“. If you know something about guitars, you will recognize it immediately.

There are only a few things that are really irreplaceable and priceless for us. They are mostly connected with our work, personal health or our personal interests and hobbies that for the main also providing human’s health and life balance. When I was ten, I played various guitars, with different shape and origin and I always enjoyed the common moments that made my life more pleasant, just in bad times.

When I met Hynek, some time at the age of forty, I was convinced that one day we will play together and I was also almost sure that one of his guitars will once „lodge“ in my hands. The only thing I didn’t know was that it will be so soon. To my fortieth birthday it became reality - I was given one of his guitars.

I was accustomed to play the guitar now and then, but this guitar has a special power. It makes me play more and more and also learn more without any compulsory measure. As regards sound and design the guitar is absolutely perfect. There wasn’t any sound or technical problem during my concerts or common productions. When I get rich (due to music) I will buy more guitars from the Hynek’s guitar-park. In my opinion, Hynek’s guitars are intended for those who want to learn and find out more about music.
